Setting up my Router - NOT VISIBLE ON WiFi SCAN!!!
Plugged in my new router as per instructions. !st time fine BUT made a mistake in the GENIE penultimate step - I entered the SSID and WEP of my existing BT router instead of inventing a new SSID and name for my new Netgear (instructions ambiguous). SO it didn't work.
Advised by vendor (v helful man at Maplin) that I should reset the unit and start again (this time making sure that enter a new SSID and WEP for my Netgear router BUT my imac does not see the new router when it scans for wifi signals. instead it connects to the existing BT router and no genie fires up. When I use my browser to find 'routerlogin.com' the message just says 'your netgear device is not connected to the internet'
Can anyone please help?

Re: Setting up my Router - NOT VISIBLE ON WiFi SCAN!!!
You may want to configure your existing BT router to be in bridge mode and then run a single cable from the existing BT router to your new routers yellow Internet port. Then run all other cables to your new router.
This should also power off the existing BT routers WiFi signals.
