Setting up wifi router

Upon attempting to connect my phone to my new Netgear 2600 WiFi router and using the login password I input into the system, my phone replies back, "Cannot Connect to WiFi."  I am thus uanable to set up my router and use the device to connect to my computer.  Have my computer back on ethernet in order to obtain support.

I forgot to mention that it indicates "Check password and try again,"  however, when I log in to the netgear website my password works fine.

Unable to set up your router? You don't need apps/phones to set up a router. Use a wired PC connection and go to http://192.168.1.1

You can then change the passwords for your WiFi
