Slow Network Speeds R8000P

Hi guys, I have recently purchased a new R8000P X6S Nighthawk hoping it would offer better speeds and stability than the ISP given Virgin Media Super Hub 3 I was running before which I now having running in modem mode. I am having issues in regards to the wireless network speeds I am getting from the router which are far slower then the speeds I was getting from my SH3 before as I was getting around speeds of upwards 800+ Mbps with this when stood next too it where as I am finding I am only getting speeds of around 100-400 Mbps with the nighthawk stood next to it regardless which of the three bands I connect to on 2.4 or 5 GHz.


I have tried different channels, preamble modes and other settings and I can't seem to affect or change it, I do have QoS and Smart connect both turned off and not sure what else to do. I have done a factory reset and currently have the latest firmware installed as well.

Does your modem have a built in router? If so have you made sure it is in modem only mode?
