Slow Wireless Throughput R8500

Hi All,

Ok I bought a new R8500 from Best Buy and I cannot get the wireless throughput to match previous router or come even close to my ISP UL/DL rates.  Netgear said it was a bad router and I took it back to get it exchanged.  I am having the same issue with the new router, I do not belive the first was bad now.

Information:  ISP-GVTC, UL: 100 MB and DL 500MB.  Directly into the ISP I see 498 DL and 101 UL.  Wired ethernet performs as expected.

I've read many articles in the community that require parameter changes that fix the issue.  I've turned off all that are mentioned in the below discussion and this did not work.  https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Nighthawk-R8500-slow-on-Cox-GigaBlast/m-p/11....

This is not a channel issue, nor poor RF Conditions.  Test were performed at -35dBm with the next best server at -90dBm.  Changing channels did not have much change at all, this has to be a setting issue.  I am stumped.  Where can I find the solution?

I've ran all tests on firmware V1.0.2.64_1.0.62 which was right out of the box, in addition I ran the exact same tests on V1.0.2.80_1.0.71

I tried to toggle on and off Traffic Meter, QOS, UPnP, and WMM.  See below, not much difference in the speeds.

Re: Slow Wireless Throughput R8500

You should contact support via mynetgear and open a case also be mindful of the return period incase NG takes their time hoping you wait until you cannot return for refund. I have a case and I'm still waiting for a fix. I'm on my second router too!

Do not give up your power to return it.
