Slow internet over ethernet

Having an issue where my internet is slow but only for devices connected through ethernet. Running a R6700 firmware version V1.0.1.22_10.0.33.
I have a simple network setup. Cable modem > router, and a single ethernet device connected. Link shows connected at 1Gbps speed, but multiple speed tests show only ~ 11 - 12Mbps per second instead of 90 that I am rated for. Speed tests on wireless devices show the full 90Mbps speed. If I plug my device directly into the cable modem using the same cable (Cat 6) I can get the full 90Mbps speed.
Within the network, I can do device to device file transfer (one on wireless, one on ethernet) at between 30 to 35 MB/s, so internal network traffic seems good.
So, anyone know what the deal is with my wired internet speed? I've done modem and router reboots. Router shows link from WAN and LAN1 both at 1000Mbps.
About at my wits end.
