Slow speed on my r9000 using 2.4ghz

Got a brand new r9000 nighthawk x10 did a speed test on 2.4ghz and its like 2mb down and 0 up on 5ghz i am getting 180 down and 12 up. I tried changing the channels on the 2.4ghz but still very slow with my old nighthawk r8000 i was getting 45 down and 10 up with 2.4ghz. I did a factory reset but still did not fix the issue. Any help i would appreciate it

thanks

Re: Slow speed on my r9000 using 2.4ghz

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

Did you swap this router out for something else?

If so, to get the modem, whatever that is, to forget settings from the old router, you need to reset the whole network and set up from scratch. And do things in the right order.

Read all about it in the QuickStart Guide:

There is a manual for the R9000 somewhere at the end of this link:

It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

Just another user.
