Terrible Bandwidth Throughput
Hello all,
I purchased a Nighthawk R7900P router back in August 2017 and I am having serious issues with it being able to handle my 1Gbps download speed. Directly from my modem I receive nearly 1Gbps, yet through the Nighthawk, hard wired with CAT 7 STP I am only getting up to 600Mbps. The router is not performing well at all, giving 50-60% throughput. Is this a problem with all of these nighthawks? Does anyone else have a 1Gbps connection?

Re: Terrible Bandwidth Throughput
Try a factory reset on the router and configure wifi only. Don't enable or configure QoS, Traffic Meter or Access controls. Run a quick speed test. Try different browsers like IE11, FF or Opera.
What is the mfr and model # of the ISP Modem/ONT?

Re: Terrible Bandwidth Throughput
I have done this as well. From some peoples articles I have read, it seems like this is an issue with the router firmware. When I use a different router and the R7900P as just an access point, I get full speeds. When the R7900P is responsible for the routing, however, I loose 30-40% of my bandwidth.
