Transfer cfg from current AC1900 to newer AC1900
Hi all,
Hoping someone can help with this. I think I am on the right track but just need confirmation and/or input to adjust correctly if I am not.
I currently have an AC1900 R6900v2 router and it is acting up quite a bit. Needing restarted a couple times a week. I have checked all I am gonna check and have already purchased a new one that says it is the AC1900 as well (not sure of the exact model and version yet).
Taking just the general model info into consideration, is it possible to import the cfg backup file from the old to the new, if so what steps do I need to take to make sure it goes smoothly, if not is there an easy way to get the new one working or do I have to go through and set it all up manually again?
Thanks tons in advance,
CC

If its the exact same model and version, you can do it.
otherwise, you shouldn't do it. Sometimes theres slight differences even between versions and using a configuration for a different device can causes problems.
Better to do a clean install.
