Two R8000 to boost Wi-Fi

Hi, my setup is: One Fibre router with ports for TV and Internet. I want to use one r8000 as the main router, and the other R8000 as an access point. The main R8000 is on the 1st floor, and the R8000 access point is on the ground floor.

The Wi-Fi function on the ISP router is disabled. I tried to enable bridge mode, but I can't get TV working if I enable it (I connect to one of my STB to the access point on the ground floor).

Currently the setup is as follows: ISP router bridge mode off, but wifi off. 1x r8000 router on the 1th floor in router mode. 1x r8000 on the ground floor connected via cable to the r8000 in router mode.

How should i setup my wifi? Should I use 2x 5GHz bands on the r8000 router and on the AP? Can I use the same SSID? I live in a moderate/big wood house. I mostly have AC devices.

Thanks!

Re: Two R8000 to boost Wi-Fi

The R8000 acting as Access Point only must be configured to Access Point mode - not router mode.

Enable Smart Connect and set the same Network name on both unts, router and access point.
