USB Drive Storage Read Write Access R9000 set up as Access Point

I use a R9000 as an access point and have a desktop hard drive attached to the R9000 USB port. I have mapped this to a drive in Windows 10 and have no problems accessing or editing files when connected directly to the R9000 via wifi.

The problem comes when I connect via a wired connection to the main router (not the R9000). In this case I can see the R9000 through Windows 10 File explorer but I do not have write access and it is not mapped. This same situation is occuring when connect to the main router via wireless.

I can't switch the routers as a work around. The main router is 192.168.0.1 and the R9000 is 192.168.0.2.

From my original message "I have mapped this to a drive in Windows 10 and have no problems..."

The problem is not mapping. I don't need a kb about mapping.

thanks
