Unable to locate or connect to 5GHz - (Nighthawk x6 AC3200 (r8000))

So, I just go tthis router last night, and was finally get it setup a little while ago. I'm currently on the 2.4GHz network and I want to get my computer onto the 5GHz one, but my computer just isn't able to locate it for some reason.

If it matters, I'm currently running Windows 10 on it's latest update.

Ok, Apparently it's my wi-fi antenna thats causing the issue. It's an older one and it doesn't seem to be able to find it.

You need a DUAL BAND network adapter. These are fairly cheap for a USB model on Amazon. I'm guessing your present Network Adapter is only for 2.4Ghz band.

Could be it just doesn't have 5GHz, but before buying be sure to check if there is a setting some place to enable 5GHz connectivity. If I recall properly I had to enable 5GHz in the BIOs of a laptop that wasn't seeing 5GHz connections. If that applies to your system I don't know but worth checking...
