Used Nighthawk - No internet, solid red light

I recently purchased this router used. Centurylink Fiber is my ISP. I’m able to access the online interface, enter my PPPOE credentials and everything seems to be working, except it says no internet connection. Maybe I just bought a faulty device?

Is that accurate?  Not an R6700v2 or R6700v3?  Look for "Model" on
the product label.  Firmware version?  Connected to what?

Why?  Replacing what?  Is there some actual problem which you are
trying to solve?

So you got some kind of ONT with an Ethernet port, or what?

Did you reset the used router, to prepare it for its new environment?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for
"Factory Settings" and "Troubleshoot".  Further reading might not hurt,
either.

Re: Used Nighthawk - No internet, solid red light

My bad, I’m new to this but thanks for the reply. To clarify:

The model is R6700v3, V1.0.4.84_10.0.58 and I purchased it as a replacement for my Centurylink Greenwave C4000 in order to not pay rent for their modem every month. The Nighthawk seems like a great alternative.

The fiber cable connects to an Adtran 324 4th Generation and then Ethernet to the C4000.

I have rebooted the device, talked with Netgear support and CenturyLink who ran me through procedures and no luck. Tried setting the C4000 to transparent bridge mode and paired my laptop through fiber>Adtran>C4000 (in transparent bridge)>Ethernet on laptop and with PPPOE Credentials got internet connection. The same path but to the Nighthawk, with app install, I still can’t get internet connection.

Will definitely read through the manual tomorrow.

   C4000LG?  C4000XG?  Other?

_Which_ "the device"?  "reboot" and "reset" are spelled differently
for a reason.

Oh, "procedures".  I'll just do a Web search for "procedures" to find
out what was involved in that, shall I?

Are there any special characters in your PPPoE credentials?  They can
cause problems with buggy Netgear router firmware.  Is there a VLAN ID
which you need to specify on the router's WAN/Internet interface?

Anything interesting in the properties of the interface on your
(unspecified) "laptop" when it works?

I know nothing, but my quick Web search found:

      https://kmwoley.com/blog/bypassing-needless-centurylink-wireless-router-on-gigabit-fiber/

It rambles through a bunch of unnecessary intermediate steps, but
appears to suggest that there are two critical WAN settings for
CenturyLink fiber (non-DSL) service:

      PPPoE
      VLAN ID = 201

Your CenturyLink rep should know if the VLAN ID matters.
