C7000[v1] or C7000v2? Look for "Model" on the product label.

Nothing to do with anything?

Of what? You can't change the C7000[vX] firmware.

Forget the app, and use a web browser?

What, exactly, did you do to the C7000? Disable its router, or
disable its radios, or what?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your cable modem+router
model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at
least). Read. Look for "Cable Your Modem Router to a Router and Use
Bridge Mode" and "Control the Wireless Radios". Which did you do?
Further reading might not hurt, either.

I'm not yet sure what "this" is.
