Using ReadyCLOUD only to access files on a USB connected memory stick

For the moment my Nighthawk Model R7000 is configured only as an Access Point. When I configure also ReadyCLOUD to access an USB stick that is connected with the R7000, I can see via the web http://readycloud.netgear.com/client/ the AP (green status healthy) and the USB stick (usb0) with maximum capacity, but data that is stored on the stick is unvisible, although I have some shares on it.
Is it necessary that the R7000 is really configured as a router instead of an AP to solve this problem? Or is there something else I have to do to access my files remotely over the internet?

Meanwhile I 've downloaded and installed the latest firmware manually without any problems. I also changed to Router mode instead of Acces Point, and reset to the initial settings. And yes, I can see now via ReadyCLOUD the usb storage WITH its shares!
Thanks everybody for your help!

Re: Using ReadyCLOUD only to access files on a USB connected memory stick
It's been a while since I looked at this, but there are a number of features that only work if the router is in router mode. I believe ReadyCloud is one of them.
You can switch back, and see if that resolves the problem. ReadyCloud should still work even when you are double-routing.

I avoid ReadyANYTHING, so I know nothing, but...

What about local access from a system on your LAN (plain-old
ReadySHARE, not ReadyCLOUD)?

I don't see why. I don't see it on the usual list of disabled
features:
Have you tried any of the many newer firmware versions?
