VLAN Config to separate a Powerline attached to port 6 on router
Hello folks, I am in need of some help with configuring my router to separate network traffic for a powerline i have installed to create a network in my roomates room.
The powerline model is PLW1000v2 and my intention is to separate my roomates network from mine so there is no access cross networks, I tried creating a VLAN and gave it ID: 1 and 0 Priority and linked it to port #6 where the powerline is hooked to my router. When i do that the powerline is not able to connect to the internet and thers is no way for me to adjust the Internet VLAN tag to add internet access to the Powerline.
My router is distributing the IP addresses through DHCP and is connected to an ARRIS modem SB8200.
I have tried all sorts of steps by looking through all the forum posts with my search ability and have not found a solution. When i do apply the VLAN settings the powerline does get isolated from my network but does not have an ip address or connectivity to the internet.
Could someone please advise possible solution to this ?
