WIRED TV to ROUTER Connection

I have recently connected my WiFi Nighthawk DIRECLY(WIRED) to my TV in order to get the full Mbps my ISP offers.  Long story short, the light indicator on the WiFi Router turns orange, indicating to me that it is not correct...  I am trying to clarify that this is done correctly.  I DO have connection to WiFi on the TV however I am unsure whether or not this is WIRED or WIRELESS.  Thanks!

Re: WIRED TV to ROUTER Connection

To verify, you should first go through the TV configuration and select ethernet if that is what you want to use. If unsure, double check your TV manual for network setup.

Re: WIRED TV to ROUTER Connection

I have the TV configured to use Ethernet however my concern is the LED light on the Router is orange which usual indicates an issue.  Why would it by that color instead of the "normal" white...

Re: WIRED TV to ROUTER Connection

Does your TV have Gbe capable NIC? Orange color means it is running at 100Mbs.  Not an indication of trouble. Also cable has to be good quality to handle Gbe speed. CAT5e or above rated ones. Personally I use CAT6 cable around the house.
