The R7000 is not well suited to extending Wi-Fi using stock firmware, but see bottom.  A range extender would be a better choice.

The R7000 has an older wireless repeating feature called WDS.  It only supports WEP security or no security at all, so it probably won't work with the iPhone.

You could use the R7000 as a wireless bridge.  In this mode, the R7000 connects to the iPhone's Wi-Fi but only clients wired into the R7000's Ethernet port are supported.

As I hinted above, there are 3rd party firmwares that have better support for wireless repeating.  There is Asuswrt-Merlin, DD-WRT and Tomato.
