After installing V1.0.9.10_1.2.21 I'm now seeing my 2.4 SSID and the same SSID with an _xt at the end. Does anyone know what this is, and how to disable it. It has the same password as my SSID. I don't see anything in the interface related to it.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Noise? I'd vote for a full ("factory") reset. You might not think
that it would be needed (and, with better-designed firmware, it wouldn't
be), but in some cases, such a reset (and reconfiguration) seems to be
needed after loading firmware.

Anything else on the network?
Netgear adds extensions like that when you set up a wireless access point.

Does that mean that you have just added new firmware to an existing device?
If so, did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?
New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.
So a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have problems with new firmware.
First note down the settings – screen grabs can help here.
