When will the next update be released?

Look back into the release date, it took one to two months to release a new update. The last update is 2.5 month ago already.....when will be the next one?

Well, I am not addicted in updating everything, but regarding the non-functioning NAT loopback problem (this function was the principle requirement drove me to change router....not to mention the drooping connection problem........

When will us have the next update?

Re: When will the next update be released?

I have been wondering when the next public firmware release for the R7500 would be as well. Back on January 23, 2015 the Wi-Fi Alliance certified the R7500 finally with firmware v1.0.0.83, which has not been released publically.

I am guessing Netgear might just waiting till Quantenna releases better drivers for the 5G radio that is in this unit.

Re: When will the next update be released?

It's so frustrating as I can barely use the 5ghz band on any of my devices because of the constant drops. Moving most of my devices to the 2.4 ghz band. I feel pretty silly now spending 300 usd when this came out for a gigabit 2.4 band only router with only okay qos.

a worthwhile question, indeed. Even just an acknowledgement of existing bugs and that they're being worked on would be nice (most software developers list the known issues). In addition to the one you've mentioned, here are 3 that I'm aware of.

1.) 5 GHz wifi not working with certain 802.11n (non-802.11ac) wifi chipsets. The Broadcom BCM94331CSAX found in mid-2012 MacBook Pro is one such chipset and has been confirmed by more than one community member.

2.) The version of forked-daapd used for iTunes server support is outdated and does not work with iTunes 12.1

3.) Readyshare (SMB Sharing) doesn't work with admin/password. This is confirmed by more than one member of the community.

Re: When will the next update be released?

I have been wondering about this also.
Considering this is a fairly new product I would have expected a new firmware build by now. The last build V1.0.0.82 was on 12/23/2014 so one would think that it's a bit overdue.
I'll take a beta, not that it matters everyone is a beta tester when it comes to hardware/software these days. Free beta testers and feedback is priceless. I just read that Adobe is asking for users to begin searching for bugs in there software. Why you ask, well it's free.
Anyway... any mods have an answer for when we should see a new firmware build for this product ?

If You Got Em....I'll Chew Em!

I believe an update is in the pipeline, but I don’t have details of when it is due, sorry if that’s a little vague.

Re: When will the next update be released?

another month has gone.....
When will the next update be released???????

the router really needs improvements. even not all problems can be settled at once, an update with some improvements is still strongly expected. It will not be the last update, and other problems can be fixed in the other updates, right??

Or......has the development of this router been abandoned already? other new model is releasing?
