Where is the update!

I received an email stating that there is an important update for my R6400 router, but when I go to the website, I can only find release notes and file fragments.  Where is the update?

R6400[v1] or R6400v2?  What's its current firmware version?

Or is that accurate?  Get your story straight?

   Which "the website"?  Where?

What, exactly, does "file fragments" mean to you?  What, exactly, did
you find?  What, exactly, did you do with whatever you found?

As usual, showing actual actions with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the
kit(s).  Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions.  Do not assume that you know what to do with what you
downloaded.

My guess, based on approximately no useful information, is that you
downloaded some firmware kit or other, and extracted the files from
the zip archive, one of which was a ".chk" file.  Then, on some Windows
computer, you double-clicked on the ".chk" file, and got some misleading
message from Windows about "recovered file fragment", because Windows
uses ".chk" for some other purpose.

Read the "Release Notes" file for instructions.  Do not assume that
you know what to do with what you downloaded.

Did you read the release notes?

R6700 Firmware Version 1.0.1.48 | Answer | NETGEAR Support

They explain what to do. Is there anything in them that you don't understand?

As to "file fragments", if you mean the file:

R6700-V1.0.1.48_10.0.46.chk

it is not a fragment. It is the firmware.

Just another user.
