Which bands do the external active antennas work with on the R9000?

I seem to recall that on the R8500 the active antennas were only used with 2.4GHz bands. What about the R9000?

I quote the product info for the R9000

  • Four enhanced dual-band Active antennas with high powered amplifiers—Maximizes range and throughput

http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R9000.aspx

on the product page of the R8500, it correctly states it has external and internal antenna's

Routing: NETGEAR RAX43 - Firmware: V1.0.11.112 (1 Gbps down, 50 Mbps up)
Switching: 2x NETGEAR 8-ports (GS108v4) / 1x NETGEAR 16-ports (JGS516v2)
Desktop: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - Server: Intel Core i7-7700K - NAS: Intel Pentium G4400, 16 TB

Is this confirmed by anyone at Netgear or a field test?
