Why does wireless bridge "Link rate" not match any MCS index value?
When a Netgear router is configured as a wireless bridge, I am used to seeing "Link rate" Mbps speeds on the Advanced home page (the speed at which the bridge connects wirelessly to the AP).
For example, a R7800 configured as a wireless bridge to a second R7800, I see Link Rate speeds like 1269, 1371, 1523, 1692. I expected to see PHY values (see mcsindex.com). Interestingly, all the Link Rate speeds Netgear reports is around 97.62% of known MCS PHY values.
Any ideas on what Netgear is doing?
