Wifi IP cameras connected to router
I just installed my C7000 modem/WiFi router and tried to get it to work with Simplisafe/SimpliCam Security Camera, but was unsuccessful in achieving a connection. I spoke with the tech at the simplisafe site and he told me the cameras require a 2.4 Gb system modem. My Netgear C-7000 has a label for 2.4 and 5.0 on the light panel indicator. Does he not know what he is talking about. Does the modem autoselect either 2.4 Gb or 5.0 Gb. If not, how can I get the modem to operate with 2.4Gb for the cameras?

When you did what, exactly?

Sounds as if.

The client device (camera) connects using the only radio band it can
use (2.4GHz); the existence or nonexistence of a 5GHz signal shouldn't
affect it. (Note: "GHz", not "Gb".)
Do you have any other wireless device which would confirm that your
router provides a 2.4GHz signal?

With little info, some printers also will send out an SSID signal at 2.4Ghz...
Were you trying to connect to the printer?
On the Router's wireless page is a 2.4Ghz section. It has an SSID, and on button, and a Password as well as security. First set security to NONE, ensure the SSID is on and being broadcast and see if you can connect the camera to that SSID and Password. If you can, enable the proper security.
If the camera's can't see the SSID, you have other problems.
