Will the R8000 router(Setup as WAP) pass through PoE from a 24 port PoE switch
Will the R8000 router(Setup as WAP) pass through PoE from a 24 port PoE switch?
No, of course not - no PoE support on most consumer device anyway. Standard compliant PoE is always a negotiation between the two endpoints on the very same local link (cable). The few switches supporting PoE "passthrough" (in fact a wrong designation) are in fact PD (powered devices) and have PoE ports built in again. What looks nice when flying over a data sheet has it's technology and standards limitations, because the switch itself does require power so a PoE powered switch chant power another PoE (Class 0 or Class 3) device, this requires a PoE+ to drive the switch PD.
Last but not least, consumer routers commonly don't make good AP anyway.
