My C7800 is located on my main floor with the coax line, I am not receiving the speeds or signal I desire in my office which is on the lower level and on the other side of the home. I would like to utilzie my R7800 to increase my coverage and speed near my office. I don't have the ability to run CAT5/6 from the C7800 to the office.
I don't see either can be placed into repeating mode natively. Is there another configuration that the community would recommend? If there is can you suggest settings for the C7800 and the R7800
Thanks in advance

1. Set the R7800 up in AP mode and connect Ethernet to the C7800 and run it as far as you can in the direction of your office. Even if you can't get it all the way there, can you get it 'most' of the way there? The closer you get, the better the speeds will be.
2. Do you have PC's with Ethernet in the office? If so, set up the R7800 as a wireless bridge (look in manual for how) in your office. The R7800 connects wirelessly to the C7800 and then provides internet via the ethernet jacks (NOT WAN jack) on the R7800 (so PCs connect ethernet to R7800, which connects wirelessly to C7800). If wireless devices in the office are 2x2 devices, this has the 'potential' to double speeds (as R7800 is 4x4).

If you don't want to run Ethernet cables around the place, then you can use Powerline Ethernet instead.
Just plug the R7800 up in AP mode into the "guest" plug.

Re: Wirelessly connecting C7800 to R7800
I likely assumed that having the R7800 connect to the C7800 and then Ethernet into the DesktTop I would get improved speed.
Having read some of your and others post it would appear that may have been a poor assumption. My desktop adapter card is a Killerac2400 which had a similar construct to the R7800. So assuming my speed would improve without changing another variable Was a mistake.
My next move is to return the C7800, seems most like to keep modem and router apart. I’m buying a 32x4 3.0/ 3.1 modem and the Netgear AX8 router. Our family has AX devices in our iPhones and iPads. Those on the old protocol will likely be upgraded during the next purchase cycle.
Thoughts on my lofty expectations for these networking products?

Re: Wirelessly connecting C7800 to R7800
What throughput (Mbps) results do you get from powerline? I am seeing reviews (and live tests in YourTube reviews) showing 20 Mbps to 300 Mbps results.

Re: Wirelessly connecting C7800 to R7800
When I connected Netgear powerline1000 I got 47, 32, 56 Mbps
Newer home 1999 so should not be an issue with wiring unless they are on different circuits or some sort of terminal issue at an outlet

Re: Wirelessly connecting C7800 to R7800
By any chance does router room and the office both have coax TV cables? I am thinking about MoCA ethernet adapters (where reviews and speeds tests seem very good).
