Wondering how to prevent IP address conflict using R6230 as WiFi repeater
The IP address of the repeating router is 192.168.1.1, identical to that of my main router. Ordinarily, I would expect DHCP to change the IP address of the repeating router automatically. However, during the WiFi repeater setup process, I must manually input the IP address of the repeating router (though I have no idea why the router can't automatically detect its own IP address). Presumably, then, the router will either lock onto 192.168.1.1 as its IP address, causing an IP address conflict, or my input will become incorrect as soon as DHCP solves the IP address conflict (which might be the case, considering that, doing so, I find myself unable to access the router settings via either routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1). How can I get the IP addresses straightened out, recorded correctly, and working properly?
Many thanks!
