X10 R9000 - UPnP no longer works with v1.0.3.16 and Cannot Connect to Some Devices After Update

Have tried doing a factory restore and manually re-entering all settings but UPnP still does not work after upgrading from v 1.0.3.10 to v1.0.3.16.

Also, when manually entering all settings after a factory restore, my two Android devices (along with two separate wireless 2.4GHz only devices) will not connect to my WiFi networks.  I have tried disabling "smart network switching" on the Android devices but that does not work (it says there is "no internet connection" on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks).  This issue seems to crop up if I apply ANY setting changes to the LAN Setup page (adding IP reservations, changing DHCP range, etc.).

Neither of these two issues (UPnP not working and cannot connect to some devices) are present in v1.0.3.10, only in v1.0.3.16.

In the other thread it appears somebody mixed the R9000 and the XR500. In my observation on the R9000 1.0.3.16, the UPnP PMP port forwarding is not workable, UPnP PMP port forwarding requests fail - https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/UPNP-no-longer-works/m-p/1568817#M92914

All wireless deivces here connect reliably with Smart Connect and a single network name/security setting in place, several Android units (like Pixel 2, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5) included.
