Re: X6S (R8000P) needs to be reset every few days

Just to show what I think of the r8000p I have sent mine on to a good home. Got tired of waiting for Netgear to get a firmware build that worked. The r8000p was a waste of money and a learning experience at the sametime. Learning experience is that IMHO Netgear has lost their way and are out wandering in the firmware developer wilderness somewhere and cannot find their way out to create a good firmware for the r8000p. .

Re: X6S (R8000P) needs to be reset every few days

@myersw and all.
For me, it will be the first time messing around with R8000P, which will be delivered to my house sometime next week.
I have been and Asus routers user for years also and presently at my son's house, Asus RT-AC router has been working nonstop for over 2 years without hickups (with few elective resets due to ISP changes). That is blessing.
I was luckily able to manage my R8000 to navigate through many firmware changes including beta, and effectively nail down to possible theoretical rootcauses of problems, but NG does not have a real fix yet, including the newest fw. So I have to twist the settings to get it stable.
I will try same method with R8000P to confirm my theory.

I have the R7900 and I did the upgrade about 2 months ago and it seemed to be ok. I have seen a few glitches but think that is a different issue. For the most part it works good.

@Techperson2,

Glad you are liking your R7900, but he's asking about the R8000P specifically.

@jamphi,

I'm running 1.4.1.24 since 9/4.  Love it.  Email is broken in this FW, but otherwise stable and have full speed across all interfaces.

Great cheers. I assume no connection drops like before (assuming you suffered the same?)
