ethernet ports not working

Hooked up to arris sb8200, updated to new firmware v1.0.3..38 everything was working good. Last thursday lost power for about a hour. Lost internet in port 1 of arris modem, switched to the other port got back internet. Wireless works great, but the only ethernet port that lights up white is the one going to computer. I have xbox and phillips hue connected both are orange and they flash on and off. I can switch ports and it remains the same only one white is computer and the other 2 orange.

Should they all be white?

What, exactly, does "not working" mean to you?  Wrong port-status LED
indicator color, or some actual trouble?

Probably not.  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model
number, and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for

"Table 1. LED and button descriptions" and "Ethernet ports 1-4".
Further reading might also have some value.

Gigabit network speed probably wouldn't improve the experience with
your light bulbs.

No internet , it would connect then say not connected. It has finally connected but I was not sure about lights thought they used to all be white if connected

Re: ethernet ports not working

Power cuts, if that is what you had, usually take out both the modem and the router in a network. When the power comes back on, they may start up in the wrong order, with the router starting before the modem is ready. That means that they get confused about which is in charge and the router fails to connect to the internet.

It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

  • Turn off and unplug the modem.
  • Turn off the modem router and computers.
  • Plug in the modem and turn it on. Wait 2 minutes.
  • Turn on the modem router and wait 2 minutes.
  • Turn on the computers.

Just another user.
