latest firmwarecupdate

I updated the firmware thru the router software before I received email from netgear. Will this cause a problem, it appears to be running ok. Did upgrading this way eliminate the security problem?  TX

You should check the firmware version you have installed to make sure that it is the one linked to from the Security Advisory for VU 582384

The email was to benefit those who are not as proactive at checking for firmware updates as yourself to let them know that the update is available.

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.

It appears that I have the right firmare update that was noted in the security message from Netgear. The router is working fine and seems to be running a lot faster Thanks for your help.
