loging into my Netgear Nighthawk 7800 X4S

I attempt to log into my Netgear Nighthawk 7800 X4S using the proper IP Address
but I always end up in my ORBI Router account.  Can anyone help?

"attempt" is a bit vague.  "R7800"?

It's nice that you're happy with what you're doing, but the
non-psychics in your audience can't see what you believe that "the
proper IP Address" actually is.  Or where you're putting it, or how that
computer/device is connected to what.  And what's the IP address of that
computer?

You also have some kind of Orbi?  Actual model number?  Look for
"Model" on the product label.

What, exactly, is connected to what, exactly?  (Hint: If a device has
different types of Ethernet ports, then "connected to device" is not
enough detail.)  And, if you do have two routers, then why?

Is the R7800 configured in any special way (as aWireless Access
Point, for example)?

None of that is a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

Perhaps, given a better problem description.

I have an R7800 feeding an Orbi RBR40. I find that the best way to get them to play nicely together is to put the Orbi into wireless access point (AP) mode.

The R7800 is a more capable router while the Orbi is good on the wifi front. So a lot of people use the same strategy.

I then use the Network Map in the desktop genie for Windows to check the IP addresses of devices so that I can get onto the Orbi through its IP address and a browser. You can use mobile apps, but they can be a pain.
