Re: new firmware guys

So was there any changes worth flashing a beta?

Re: new firmware guys

searay, Do you know if this includes the IPv6 fixes that we've seen from the *57* debug builds yet? It might or might not, depending on how they do source control; i.e. the source for those *57* fixes (if on a branch) would have to have been merged into the *60* source trunk or branch. If you know what I mean *smile*. I may be attributing more source control functionality to them than they actually use, though.

Re: new firmware guys

seeing that there wasn't a change log listed ,one would have to make a decision here
I made the decision to load it and see what happens and I didn't the other beta to go by
and the 56 release was wireless hell, the decision was easy

When should we expect a final version to be released? (Not sure how long Netgear usually beta tests.)

Re: new firmware guys

Last firmware seemed to make everything snappier. From that firmware to this beta I do not see that kind of speed improvement. Also the things I have turned off like Parental Controls and Guests Network showed red due to being disabled. So far they are still green.

Other than that I don't see anything that smells like an early beta release. Loaded fine and seems stable. Wireless clients not dropping but I did not have a problem with that before.

Re: new firmware guys

Rodger,

Don't bother with this one if you're looking for the IPV6 fix. Just confirmed it's still broke stay on the current one.

Stuck testing WRT1900AC, oh well *smile*.

Interesting that it has "QA" in the version string, almost as though it were a release candidate that Netgear is testing *smile*. We'll see, I guess. They may go through several release candidates before they're happy.

Re: new firmware guys

When you guys install firmware updates, do you factory reset before and then reconfigure everything manually or do you use a backup of your previous configuration?

Re: new firmware guys

Looks like it added FaceBook Like me option.

I usually do reenter a fresh manually entered config. In this case I didn't only because I did last night with .60. I'll do it later to night when everyone is a sleep.

Re: new firmware guys

I have about 30 reserved IP addresses so I prefer not to manually enter them again as long as it doesn't adversely effect the firmware upgrade process.

Re: new firmware guys

You're better off resetting to defaults and configuring from scratch. Even though it appears things sometimes work, it can create strange quirkiness down the road...

Re: new firmware guys

Your choice, I have 12 reserved and it doesn't take that long if you leave them on, most show up as attached with correct info and it's a matter point and click.
