nighthawk 7500v2 2350
I have had this router for a while and it works very well in a large house. Ever since spetrum updated their internet to 100 MBPS all my wireless devices do very well on speed. Between 60 and 80 MBPS. My pc that is hard wired through the router on #1 does no better than 25 MBPS. I have replaced the cable from the router to the pc and rebooted every thing several times. No Joy. It is almost like the pc is limited to the same speed . It never varies by 4-5 MBPS. Also the ping times in wireles are around 18-25. The wired pc i always 47 . I have tried changing channels. I have not tried a hard reset. Any ideas would be welcome.

Re: nighthawk 7500v2 2350
What is the speed of your PC's LAN? 25 Mbps is very slow, but older LAN does only 100 Mbps which is not really up to your Internet speed.
You may have the latest LAN drivers that Windows can find, but I'd still investigate your PC as the most likely source of the slowdown.
Windows will not always find the right "chipset" drivers. To get these you need to go to the motherboard maker's website and see what it can offer.

Re: nighthawk 7500v2 2350 slow wired connection
The latest thing i have tried is uninstalling the network adapter and all the drivers. rebooting and let windows install. No Joy, still hovering around 25 mbps. My lan speed says 100 mbps. Still getting between 60-80 mbps on wireless speed tests.

That is usually associated with older hardware that can handle only 100 Mbps.
A router will usually flag up that sort of LAN hardware by showing an amber Ethernet Port LED. (Labelled 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the top.) They show white for Gigabit Ethernet connections.

Re: nighthawk 7500v2 2350 slow wired connection
You are correct. pc wired to # 1- blinking amber light on 1. change theconnection to 2 -3-4 and the amber light moves to those numbers. why is it flagging thatconnection now or has it always done it and i did not notice? I still do not get the speed loss. When my connection was 60 mbps i would run speed tests and usually would get between 50-70 mbps. now it is 100mbps and i can do no better than 28 mbps.

Not knowing what you are using to run these speed tests, it is hard to work out what is going on. In general speed tests are often "fake news". For example, they tell you the speed you are connected at, rather than the rate at which traffic flows.
That you see amber LAN lights tells us that your Ethernet hardware is limited to 100 Mbps, which is at the limit when it comes to your 100 Mbps Internet connection.
We don't know what your modem is or what the slow PC is, so it isn't possible to say if there is an easy way to fix the LAN speed.

I am using Ookla speed test windows app. But using on line apps yields similar results.

Re: nighthawk 7500v2 2350 slow wired connection
Would i gain anything by getting a new network card, or is the speed still limited by my motherboard ?

Re: nighthawk 7500v2 2350 slow wired connection
If you have a spare slot on your board, the cost of a Gbps LAN card is trivial. I have one with four USB3 ports as well. It cost me £30. Lesser cards are much cheaper, less tghan £$€10.
Have you checked the specifications of your motherboard? How old is it? It must be years since they last shipped 100 Mbps hardware.
