nighthawk R8500

I install a new R8500 router. I us ethernet with router to verizon gateway modem. The internet works fine for a few hours, then it quits. I try resetting, it dorsn't work. It is a brick. This is my 3rd one in 4 days. Help! I have a new one, don't dare to install it until I get some answers

That is why the question of FW could be an issue.
I agree that both devices have trouble communicating. Maybe FW update can solve the issue!

What FW are you using?
Try to reboot your modem.

If it's your 3rd one in 4 days I would suggest it's not the router but the way you are setting it up to work with the modem. What modem version/model do you have?

I decided to set the router up as ap. It seems to be working fine for now. Thanks, I took your advise, rebooted the verizon gateway modem. All is fine.
