Re: nighthawk X6S AC4000

You will not have to restart from scratch when unplugging. Unless the router loses its setting on power off, which is highly uncommon

Routing: NETGEAR RAX43 - Firmware: V1.0.11.112 (1 Gbps down, 50 Mbps up)
Switching: 2x NETGEAR 8-ports (GS108v4) / 1x NETGEAR 16-ports (JGS516v2)
Desktop: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - Server: Intel Core i7-7700K - NAS: Intel Pentium G4400, 16 TB

As @microchip8 says, it should work just fine, but this would be a good time to backup your router's settings.

Visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

Check the section in the manual Manage the Router Configuration File.
