r6220 Router access issue

I have set up remote access in the management settings. However, when I try to access remotely by entering the IP address and port number in the url of a browser I get a message that the site cannot be reached.

I am trying to access the router remotely and I can't figure out how to do it. I am using a MAC. Please help someone...

What, exactly, is between the R6220 and your ISP?  Which "the IP
address"?  Does the WAN/Internet IP address of the R6220 agree with what
you get from a "what is my ip address" web site?

You probably shouldn't publish your public IP address, but you could
report at least the first two octets of anything ("a.b" out of
"a.b.c.d").

Re: r6220 Router access issue

Thank you for the response. So I was able to get to a login popup window now. I wasn't using https. I'm entering https://174.79.59.103:8443

I changed some of the numbers, but this is essentially what I'm entering. However, after proceeding through the message that the site is not secure to get to the login screen I enter my login credentials and it doesn't take. I entered the correct credentials I know this and the response is just that the popup resets and the fields are emptied but nothing else. No error message, but I don't proceed either. Any ideas?

   I know nothing, but if you're using "https://", then I wouldn't
expect any any "site is not secure" message.  Which browser?  Actual
message?

"admin" and a password which works locally?

Re: r6220 Router access issue

I've tried using chrome and safari. Both said it was not secure but I could proceed anyway. Yes I'm using the same login credentials that work locally.
