If you do decide to try DD-WRT one thing of caution. Make sure you understand how to reinstall Netgear firmware in case you want to. Have run DD-WRT on routers and has worked good and sure has more things to look at and knobs to twist.

Hi,

 

I am going to try flash custom firmware. Sick and tired of netgear firmware, no matter which version I use there are problems. Constant wifi/wired dropouts, even after I disable everything but 2.4ghz. Hopefully this works.

hi all!

 

Update - I flashed dd-wrt (latest slayer build) and i have had 0 dropouts and 0 issues. Very happy with this. My problems are solved. It was straightforward and no issues. No wifi/wired dropouts, no speed issues, perfect.
