router wont connect to internet

was working fine up till last week ! daughter unplugged it and now it wont connect to the internet .. either blinks white constantly or solid orange light! ive tried to update firmware but the app wont let me do it bc it cant connect to the internet ! any ideas?

It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

  • Turn off and unplug modem.
  • Turn off router and computers.
  • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
  • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it connect.
  • Turn on computers and rest of network.

There's a whole row of LEDs. Each one has its own meaning.

 

Visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

and feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the troubleshooting section in the manual and look for the bit where it describes what the LEDs mean..

You may have done this already, but I can't tell from your message.
