unable to directly connect to my nighthawk r7000.

i have tryed to connect using 192.168.1.1 as well as http://www.routerlogin.net   

for the number it just times out again and again,   for the router login,  it says 'your not connected to the wifi   (which of course im not,   im using a direct ethernet connection)  

i have no issues connecting to my wifi etc  it just wont let me enter the set up now days  and im not sure why,  any insights on this would be very much appreciated

   Ok, but the reason the R7000 shifted from its normal default
("192.168.1.1") to that alternate is, most likely, that you connected it
to some other router (which was already using the "192.168.1.*" subnet).

   Cascading multiple routers can cause multiple problems.

   Welcome to what may be the worst error message in the world. For an
explanation, try:

   Briefly, the idea is that "[www.]routerlogin.net" (or ".com") should
point to your own router, but that's true only if you use your own
router for DNS name resolution.  Regardless, you should be able to get
to the thing using its IP address, if you can determine (or guess) that.
Normally, that would be something like "192.168.1.1", but it could be
different.

   Then either that's not the LAN IP address of the R7000, or its
management web server had died (possible, but unlikely).

   Does "etc" include a wired/Ethernet connection?

   What is the IP address of one of these successfully connected
devices?  What does it say that its gateway/router address is?

   To what did you connect the WAN/Internet port of the R7000?  That
could affect its LAN IP address, especially if you connected it to some
other router (which was already using the "192.168.1.*" subnet).

my apologies for not giving you that information.  

basically i have it connected to the att internet router box.   i am using my personal router for wifi and connection  instead of theirs  for the ability to control / lockout people on the wifi,  and to make it easier for me to share the connection with the freinds i wish to do so.   basically its 'internet line into the house into the att router, to my router to my computer  all  cable connected (nothing like frying them all if i get a ground lighting strike in the right spot right? :>)  

that and theres has  a very low level of connectivity  where as the nighthawk has more connections available
