wifi channel protection

while troubleshooting network on reason for my wifi network keep dropping connection.

i noticed that a very specific SSID "SINGTEL-DABF" keep jumping from one channel to another.

it is also exhibiting very strong signal strength. it is even stronger than my wifi when i was in the living room directly 3 meter from my router.

this cause some concern, all will to know how do i identify this rogue wifi and protect my wireless network.

Re: wifi channel protection

It could be a neighbor's network and their router is using auto channel selection. Log into your router and change the channel from auto to a fixed number. This will hopefully make your network more stable.

Please check this KB article on selecting channels.

Re: wifi channel protection

Designated public spectrum is that of wireless we use. Thart is not rogue signal, just strong affecting yours. Is there a reason you think that is

rogue? One way to counter this kind of issue is using 5GHz band which is not so crowded yet.
