I am working with Nighthawk RAX50, Firmware 1.0.4.100, On an iMac running OS Monterey 12.01in a small home network. 5G keeps dropping. I selected Smart Connect and the connection to 5G drops off continually until I am forced to use the 2.4GHz setting. I purchased this router about 1 month ago and have had that problem since purchase. What gives with the 5G setting.
My previous router TP Link was changed due to a malfunctioning chip. Previous to that I had no problem with 5G.

Uses a non-DFS channel. If there's any radar in your area, the dfs channels switch.
Try the 149+ or 36-48 channels. it could be the RAX is picking up the radar and having to switch.

Re: 5G with RAX50 AX5400
Is it only the 1 device having issues or all devices?

When the router drops the 5G connection all units drop the network.

Re: 5G with RAX50 AX5400
So it isn't isolated to one device?
Its everything disconnects at the same time?
Have you factory reset the router and reinstalled it?
What wireless 5ghz channel are you on?

Re: 5G with RAX50
This RAX50 has been a nightmare on the 5Gig as it constantly drops. I had it set to smart which selected 2.4 or 5 GHz depends on the device but that was no good either. But now I notice that the 2,4 Gig is always up without issue. only -5G constantly drops and is unusable. This is a 2 months old router and has not been an upgrade at all. All devices drop not just one. FW: V1.0.11.112-2.0.77

Re: 5G with RAX50
@khalilkhalil have you started your own thread? You're posting on a solved thread for a while ago. We ask users with issues to not thread jump and to just start their own so their details don't get mixed up with the OP's.
