Can't get VPN to make a connection with RAX49 through ISP Hotspot M6 Pro, OpenVPN on Windows 11

I've established a LAN using an RAX49 wifi/ethernet router, multiple IP cameras, and Blue Iris camera software on a new "gaming computer" running Windows 11. The computer is connected to the RAX49 with ethernet cable.  All is running well and now I wish to establish a connection to this computer via my iPhone when I'm traveling.  The RAX49 is connected via an ethernet cable to an ATT Hotspot, which is a Nighthawk M6 Pro, and is my ISP and access to the WAN

First step was to log into the RAX49 and set up a DDNS with No-iP as recommended by Netgear discussion boards, enable the VPN service via RAX49 and following all steps.  This included renaming the network connection in windows on my computer to NETGEAR-VPN.  The service is running, the OpenVPN indicates that it is trying to connect (to what I just don't know . . . . . I think I'm in the deep end of the pool). . . . and continually warns that  "No server certificate verification method has been enabled."  Reached out to OpenVP for help . . . . . turns out they don't help on these routers . . . . . and their community discussions don't seem to have anyone questioning this type of issue.

Reading various posts have suggested that on the M6 Pro hot spot I should enable port forwarding (done) and enable DMZ (done).  The IP address of the RAX49 on the M6 Pro is stable, and now static.  My computer has a static IP address on the RAX49 router.

So that's about it for the context and equipment.  I've multi-checked everything, including white listing the OpenVPN gui on my AVG antivirus/firewall software.  I just can't seem to find the issue.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Regards,

Rick g

Many unknowns trying to establish an Open VPN connection back to a router that is connected to the internet over a fixed wireless connection.

You might get involved with some of the discussions over on Reddit.  Apparently the AT&T fiber service actively blocks VPN connections so they can sell their product.  Reasonable to think that block works both ways, from the inside out as well as from the outside in.  It may the same for the AT&T fixed wireless service.

Thanks for the suggestion . . . . . I'll give it a try over at Reddit. . . .  and perhaps call ATT.
