I just set up my AX5400 and want to backup my settings, but Chrome objects as it's considered "insecure content." I can get around it by electing to download it anyway, but I cant find an option in chrome to whitelist the address. Thanks.

This is the RAX54S?
AX5400 is not a unique Netgear model number. Many devices come with the AC/AX tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and others, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
You are using a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI)? In Windows?
At what stage does Chrome object?
Browsers are getting picky about security, especially with http sites, even though they are local and unlikely to bring about Armageddon.
If you can't find anywhere in the Chrome world that tells you what to do, try a different browser.
Firefox and Edge may throw up security warning, but they will let you save the file. Just follow their instructions.
Chrome also offers this option:

Re: Chrome blocks attempts to backup settings
Thanks. I'm running Chrome on Win 11. According to the box, the model is an RAX50-NAS. I was hoping to find a way to simply whitelist the address for the future.

Re: Chrome blocks attempts to backup settings
Changing the site settings to allow insecure content, as Chrome advised, did not resolve the issue. And Edge has a similar problem. So, this is a challenge for Netgear as well, as Chrome is the post popular browser and Netgear at least should offer a suggestion. Perhaps the few extra steps are all that can be done for the time being.

Re: Chrome blocks attempts to backup settings
I've been able to use MS Edge to backup images though I get a noticed that asks me to keep the file or not.
I can't remember if there is a security setting for this or not in MS Edge. I just usually tell it to keep the file. Wondering if there is a security setting in Chrome to allow for saved back ups. I ran in to a similar issue on Apple where Safari browser would not save a backup correctly. NG told me to disable a networking feature in OSX then Safari started working to save the backup file.
Does this happen with FireFox or Opera browsers as well?

Re: Chrome blocks attempts to backup settings
Use what works for you. Give FireFox or Opera a try at some point. Doing some search online, seems the MS Edge is bound for this message for downloading what it feels as non secure or insecure files. From what others say, something we can't change for MS Edge so the only solution is to select the KEEP file option when using MS Edge to download these "insecure" files. I don't see this issue when Opera GX.

Thanks, but I don't have Firefox or Opera to test. It's not that much of a problem as I rarely backup my router settings.
