iOS OpenVPN client updated to version 3.4.0 and now I get an unsupported option error when trying to connect to my R8500 router. The R8500 is identified as end of service by Netgear so I am assuming there will not be a firmware update to fix this issue.
I am looking at getting an RAXE300/AXE7800 but want to know if this router supports iOS OpenVPN 3.4.0 client?

OVPN was released with 3.4.0 starting from mid July, including the
- Updated OpenVPN 3 library to version 3.8.0
- Updated OpenSSL library to version 3.0.8
plus some subsequent releases of the OpenVPN Connect for Windows
- 3.4.1 (3150), Release date: 17 August 2023
- 3.4.2 (3160), Release date: 24 August 2023
The current build for the RAXE300 Firmware Version 1.0.8.64 is dated from the 21 March 2023 ... and of course no word of the current OpenVPN and OpenSSL libraries. Therefore: No, Netgear has not done the OpenVPN 3.4 homework yet, at least not for the RAXE300.
Querying Dr. Google for
site:netgear.com OpenVPN 3 library version 3.8.0
does not provide any finds, too. @DarrenM< (all Nighthawk), @DavidGo (all Orbi), and @BH-C ref. the new RS700 - more work load coming from your unpaid Swiss consultant.
