Is the RAXE500 compatible with the EX7500?

We recently installed the RAXE500.  It seems to be working just fine.
OUr business space is larger than the 3500sqft supported by the RAXE500.
We have previously used the Ex7500|AC2200 mesh extender with success, on the previous router.

When adding the Ex7500 to the RAXE500, the 2.4 & 5 Ghz lights do not come on.

I have tried using the WPS button & also walked through multiple set up efforts with Netgear support.

At the end of the most recent call the support tech told me the LEDs are likely burnt out, but that the device was configured correctly to extend the chosen 2.4 & 5 networks.  That does not seem to be the case.

Can anyone confirm are these two devices even compatible?
If, yes do they require special settings to work correctly?

One tech mentioned needing to set up the extendr with a static IP, but the next two techs after him said they disagreed...

yes they are compatible. I have an EX6400 that works with my RAXE500 when I tried it. Not the same extender but same basics.

What firmware is on the RAXE?

What firmware is on the EX7500?

Do the other led's on the EX7500 work?

The 2.4ghz/5ghz lights on it come on when a device is connected to those bands. was there a device connected to it?

Have you done a wireless scan after setup to see if the ex7500 is broadcasting?

or set it up without the mesh settings so you can ensure you connect a device to the 2.4ghz/5ghz?

Re: Is the RAXE500 compatible with the EX7500?

Thanks, good questions.

Both firmwares are up-to-date, as of yesterday, 2-20-22.  Both devices have been rebooted with a minimum of 10 seconds off.

The other LEDs light up just fine.  The 2.4 & 5 Ghz leds lit up when in use with the previous router.  At one point in troubleshooting the extender, the 2.4 was lightting, but the 5 was not.
We tried to set up the extender to name its own (add the _EXT), but unchecking the feature in the UI did not force the change.

To your point about other devices, that may be a relevant peice of the puzzle, I was intentionally doing this work after hours, I only had my smart phone onsite, no extra devices, and no business being conducted (other team member's devices shut down)...

Thanks for the ideas & questions!

If you want to disable the mesh/one wifi function, try a factory reset and reinstall using the installation assistant.

otherwise, if its on, it's up to the device to roam to it.

And those lights won't come on if nothings connected to them
