Netgear RAX40-100NAS
Good day, I have my a Netgear RAX40-100NAS router set up. Wifi is blazing fast, but when I use one of the ports in the back and directly connect to my computer with an ethernet cable my PC doesn't recognize that I connected directly to the router with an ethernet cable. I direct connect when I want to download a large file for faster loading. It appears my download is still being downloaded via wifi. Is there something I am missing or need to do?

When you connected the Ethernet cable, did you inform the operating
system on your (unspecified) "my PC" that it should use that network
interface, and stop using the wireless network interface?
Did you think that you had a Macintosh?

In my experience, both windows PC and MAC are smart enough to know which of two connections is the faster and use it, Granted the best way is to disable/turn off wireless connection if using an Ethernet connection.
