Nighthawk AX4: RAX35 - DHCP Issues
I am having issues with my Nighthawk AX4: RAX35 router. I determined that the issue is resolved by manually putting in an IP Adress on each device so it seems the issue is with the DHCP Server. I tried changing the settings on the IP Address range and even turned it off and back on a few times to ensure it was actually set to "On".
I called and spoke with Netgear Support on the phone and after walking me through cycling power to the router (I have done this countless times already) they determined the issue was not hardware as the router power lights are green. They then tried to sell me on premium support to pay for "Software Support" (this costs more than it is worth to me since I can buy a new router for $150) and as far as I know there is no guarentee that the issue will be fixed permenantly.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! I doubt that Netgear cares enough to help so maybe the community will help! Thanks in advanced for any support or suggestions you have! I am fairly well versed in Networking and while it says I am a "Novice" by my name that is only because this is my first issue with Netgear I have posted about.

I have the same router but haven't experienced any DHCP issues that a reboot didn't correct. I did have some wireless devices connect and immediately drop but a reboot corrected the issue. Have you changed any of the default settings on the LAN Setup or Access Control pages? What version of the firmware are you using? I too was offered premium support at a cost close to the price I paid for the router and my issues look to be related to the firmware.

@Eagle-TwoA reboot used to fix the issue but it no longer changes upon rebooting and I didn't change anything any settings for that to happen. I even went as far as to completely reset my router to factory settings and it still had the same issue. The only changes I made were changing the SSID and password which should not make a difference in my experience and I did not change the access controll settings. I have tried the most up to date Firmware and the previous firmware (I think it is the original firmware, but I am not sure tbh). The firmware I am running because it seems to have the fewest issues is Firmware Version V1.0.3.62_1.0.1. I updated the firmware to the newest version (Firmware Version V1.0.3.80_1.0.1 I beleive) and the DHCP was still not working so I have downgraded back to the previous firmware. I think a firmware update on their part might be the fix for this issue, but only an update will tell us if they decide to send one out since this is one of the older routers of the RAX line.

@michaelkenward as I stated in the rest of the paragraph the issue is with DHCP.
I probably should have mentioned it, but to give a little more clarity on the issue, when I do not manually assign an IP address (10.0.0.x) the router gives them an ip address that starts with "169" (something like this 169.x.x.x). From my experience with Netgear (and other routers) this means the DHCP server is not working properly and is giving out a random IP address starting with "169".

That's your interpretation of this unexplained "issue".
It does not tell was what is happening and what is going wrong on your network that makes you pin it down to DHCP.
Sadly, the word "issue" could describe anything.

@michaelkenward so what is your interpritation of what was in the original post or what I added in my previous post? If you don't know or don't have any suggestions/questions to ask me for me to further explain or for you to help then please try and help someone else.I appreciate any help that I am given, but I don't appreciate unhelpful or time wasting comments. I have certifications from "CISCO" on both Networking and IT so I am not your average user. I am just a frustrated user that needs some help!
