Nighthawk AX5/RAX5 stops routing inside LAN and to internet
Hello! I just purchased a Netgear RAX5 from Walmart and it is having a very weird issue. At random intervals the router stops routing. I can still associate with the access point wirelessly, and it still grants DHCP both wired and wirelessly. I can login to the online interface and see that it has internet from my ISP and it detects both my wired and wireless computers. I can run a speed test on my internet connection from the router's web interface and it returns good bandwidth (the 100Mbps synchronous I expect.)
However, the device does not do any routing. I can ping the router itself from any machine (windows, linux, chromeOS devices). I cannot ping any other devices from my laptop. I can't ping my local wired machines from each other, I can't ping my wired machines from wireless. I also can't ping the ISPs gateway that the router itself can access.
When this happens the routing dies for all machines connected to the network. I used to have one of my wired machines setup with a static IP, but reading online told me that maybe that was the issue, so I switched it to a reserved DHCP address and had it connect using DHCP instead of static settings. That did not fix anything.
The logs on the router don't say anything relevant.
Is there anyway I can get lower level (shell?) access to the machine? I'd like to poke at the routing tables, arp tables, etc to see if I can figure out the issue.
Firmware Version V1.0.3.28_1
Thanks! Dan Fleming

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
