Orbi RBK854 versus 4x EAX80
Hi,
is there any real difference between Orbi RBK854 and 4x EAX80?
I will NOT be using Wireless connection between the access points / extenders. I will use a wired backhaul to each of the 4 access points.
I will NOT be using any router / DHCP functionality of the Orbi, as I already have a Cisco wired router in place.
I basically just need 4 access points to cover the house, with easy automatic roaming between them.
Given this use case, is there any difference between the two options?
Best Regards,
Wouter

Re: Orbi RBK854 versus 4x EAX80
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AX (WiFi 6) products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi AX and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Extenders won't have a dedicated wireless or wired backhaul connection like the Orbi systems have.
Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.

Re: Orbi RBK854 versus 4x EAX80
When the EAX80 is setup in access point mode, its smart roaming features are disabled. Most devices still roam, just not as efficiently.
If you're not needing the wired backhaul, I'd check into the SXK30 series. It allows the wired backhaul and you could use that many satellites.
Or even the MK60 series.
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
