I'm a bit lost as to what you are seeking help with.
We don't need to know about things that are solved, just current problems.
Is this it?

Should I be concerned that this system has been hacked?
Do you have any evidence to support that notion?
There are very few, if any, reports here of hacked networks that are down to a vulnerable router.
Check the flow of traffic around here. If anything serious has cropped up you would read at it here.
Then there is this:

Your account of earlier problems could point to possible issues, but you seem to be satisfied that all is now well on that front. And you don't provide enough useful detail to say much more.

Yes, concern is primaily with the Linux-associated "Grub" dual-boot bootloader. New vulnerabilities just disclosed & I had unusual trouble rebooting recently. I guess the router has been ruled out as the initial cause of the worry. Still a related worry - how to verify the router firmware has not been altered? (e.g., how to query it for a checksum or something).
Thanks for your reply. I won't continue unless there are comments/knowledge about the above.
